Helmeringhausen Hotel

Description

The Helmeringhausen Hotel lies in the tiny settlement of Helmeringhausen in Southern Namibia. It was established during the German colonial era as a farm by a member (Mr Hubert Hester) of the Schutztruppe/German Colonial Infantry. Later it became famous for its Karakul sheep breeding and currently cattle and goats are farmed here. The Hotel forms part of the historic 11,000 ha Farm Helmeringhausen and is an ideal stop-over on the drive between Lüderitz and the Namib-Naukluft Park, Sossusvlei or Fish River Canyon

After a long day’s desert driving, many guests enjoy a dip in our crystal clear swimming pool. There is also an outdoor beer and coffee garden, set amongst the hotels lush garden. There are 22 well-appointed individual en-suite double rooms. Each room is fitted with mosquito nets and comfort. We also have a campsite for guests that love the outdoors. Our Curio Shop makes for interesting browsing and is stocked with various locally hand- and homemade items.
