Okaukuejo Resort

Okaukuejo Camp is located in the park and only 17 km from the southern entrance, the Anderson Gate. Furthermore, there’s something for every taste as Okaukuejo offers camping and chalet accommodation.
Evidently, it is the oldest tourist camp in Etosha and the administrative centre of the park. Okaukuejo is also home to the Etosha Ecological Institute. There is a selection of accommodation available to provide you with a high level of comfort.

The most popular of the accommodation options are the premier waterhole chalets. These overlook the floodlit waterhole at Okaukuejo – the main attraction of this camp. The area is floodlit at night so guests can enjoy the wide variety of wildlife surrounding the Okaukuejo Camp. The wildlife congregates and interacts; from lion to rhino, elephant and antelope.

The spectacle starts at dawn, with animals coming in large numbers to quench their thirst. Then the activity continues throughout the day until late at night. Thereafter, in the early evenings, it is not uncommon to have black rhino, elephant, and lion – all drinking at the same time!
