Sesriem Campsite

Description

Sesriem Campsite is ideal for travelers who are looking for a life-changing camping experience in the desert but with the added benefit of facilities nearby. Our campsites are far apart from each other, so you can get that I’m-definitely-in-the-wild feel!

Sesriem Campsite has been upgraded and guests can make use of the gas station, shop, restaurant and bar. But when you’re at your campsite under the acacia’s shade you can just enjoy being on the edge of the Namib.

The famous orange sand dunes are visible from the campsites and if you’re lucky you can spot some of the Namib-Naukluft Reserve wildlife too! The desert is home to oryx, hyena, black-backed jackal, springbok and zebra. Animal sightings are rare but truly special.

You can leave early in the morning with your coffee and rusks and enjoy breakfast en-route to Sossusvlei and Deadvlei. Naturally, watching the sunrise over the dunes is spectacular. There are also walking trails like the Sesriem Canyon hike. The Sesriem campsite is popular because it’s only 60km from Sossusvlei, where Dune 45 can be found. This is the most photographed dune ever! It’s also easy to climb.

Deadvlei is a haunting salt pan, dotted with dead acacia trees with red dunes in the background.
